Horse First Aid Kit

Postby SouthernTrailsGA » February 8th, 2010, 4:41 pm

We always keep a First Aid Kit in the Truck for Ourselves, just in case the is a cut, scrape or headache. We also have a miniature First Aid kit we take out on long Trail Rides for ourselves.

It wasn't till a few years ago that we realized we did not have a First Aid Kit for our Horses when we took them out to Shows or for a Remote Trails Ride.

In retrospect we realized we had been bad parents for not having one for our Horses.

We now carry one for the Horses wherever we go.

In the large kit for the Truck/Trailer we have:
Vet Wrap, Saline, Eye Solution, Banamine and Needles, Bute, Gauze, Antibiotic Ointment, Beta-dine, Wonder Dust, Clothes, Towels and Scissors.

In the Trail Kit we have:
Gauze, Vet Wrap, Wonder Dust, Scissors, Towelettes of Antiseptic and Antibiotic Cream.
