Saddle Up with Dennis Brouse

Brouse begins production on horse documentary

July 1, 2009

Dennis Brouse, host of the hit TV show Saddle Up with Dennis Brouse has started production on a six-part documentary that will take viewers on a fascinating journey into the history of the horse.

"The documentary will explore the fascinating role horses have played in our world since they came into existence more than 50 million years ago," said Brouse.

The documentary will be broken into six, one-hour parts that will work together or serve as free-standing one-hour programs. Each episode will focus on a specific role that horses have played in our lives. The six parts include:
  1. The Breeds
  2. The Companion
  3. The Warrior
  4. The Entertainer
  5. The Worker
  6. The Athlete
Brouse and his team of experts started production on this project this spring. This includes research, writing and location scouting. Filming will take place primarily in Iowa and will run through October. The crew will also utilize archival footage, particularly for the segments that will focus on aspects of the horse's history that are very dated.
